The invention discloses a tramcar system for shortening transfer distances from tramcars to buses and a control method thereof. An upstream tramcar and a downstream tramcar are controlled to enter and exit out of stations according to corresponding signal lamps. Transfer can be achieved between whether the upstream tramcar or the downstream tramcar and whether an upstream bus or a downstream bus in two stations, wherein the transfer between the upstream tramcar or the downstream tramcar and the bus which runs in the same direction as the upstream tramcar or the downstream tramcar is achieved in one station, and the transfer between the upstream tramcar or the downstream tramcar and the other bus which runs in the different direction as the upstream tramcar or the downstream tramcar is achieved in the other station. Accordingly, the transfer distances and transfer time of passengers on the tramcars and passengers on the buses are shortened, transfer experience of the passengers is improved, and improvement of attraction of a whole public traffic system in a city traffic trip mode is facilitated.
