With the development of integrated aircraft design technology, aircraft and engines have gradually moved from mutual independence to mutual integration, and the role of nozzle as an important component of integrated aircraft design has become more important. This paper mainly analyzes the role of nozzle in the development stages of integrated design technology for different aircraft, and introduces the issues that should be considered in nozzle design at different development stages. The results show that during the independent design phase of the aircraft, the nozzle as a component of the engine hardly affects the aircraft design. During the joint design phase of the aircraft-engine, the role of the nozzle in the integrated design of the aircraft-engine has increased significantly, and it is necessary to consider the integrated design of internal and external flows. In the integrated design stage of the aircraft, the application of thrust vectoring technology and stealth technology has made the importance of the nozzle more prominent. The vector nozzle with stealth capability has become a typical feature of the aircraft at this stage. After entering the flight fusion design stage, whether it is a next-generation fighter or a hypersonic aircraft, the nozzle will become an integral part of the rear fuselage of the aircraft, integrating the aircraft and the engine.
