The objective of this study is to identify factors which may contribute to injury risks of drivers aged 65 or older who are involved in single vehicle collisions in the City of Calgary in Canada. We find that being female, impaired, not using seatbelt, driving a van or driving under sun-glare tends to increase crash severity. Crash severity also tends to increase if the crash occurs at intersections, especially those without traffic control devices or involves the vehicle running off the road.
